Cookie & Local Storage Policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage technologies — including local storage and session storage — that the eScripts website and app use. Browser storage that identifies you may be personal information under POPIA, so this policy should be read with our Privacy Notice.

These are strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for and cannot be switched off within the app:

• Authentication tokens — kept by our authentication provider in browser storage or cookies so that you stay signed in securely between page loads.
• Session and CSRF/security state — protects your account against unauthorised requests.
• Load and routing state — keeps the app functioning as you navigate.

We store small preference values, such as your selected tax year or interface choices, so the app behaves consistently for you. These are functional rather than tracking technologies.

Where you use Google or Apple sign-in, PayFast checkout, or place/map lookup services, those providers may set their own cookies on their own pages under their own policies. We do not control that storage. Review the relevant provider's privacy and cookie policies for details.

In the current release, eScripts does not intentionally use advertising, behavioural tracking or cross-site marketing cookies. If we ever introduce non-essential analytics or marketing technologies, we will update this policy first and provide an appropriate consent control before those technologies are used.

Every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies and clear site storage, usually under Settings then Privacy. You can also use private/incognito browsing.

Note: if you block or clear essential authentication and session storage for escripts.live, you will be signed out and parts of the app will not work, because the service cannot keep you securely authenticated.
